Our high end current sources are designed to drive the corrector magnets required for steering a particle beam inside a synchrotron: • The fast settling models take place inside a fast feedback loop, which goal is to remove from the beam position any mechanical or electrical induced noise. The required settling time is shorter than 70µs and the data rate up to 10KHz, using a dedicated RS485 interface.

• The low drift and low ripple models take place inside an overall control loop, which requires a high level of accuracy. The requested stability and resolution are within the 5ppm range, and the current settings are sent by an overall network, with a typical 10Hz data rate. |

The modular Bilt system is well suited to set up a large number of current sources along the synchrotron storage ring and along the linear accelerator: Compact and stacked chassis, plug and play for any power modules, minimum spare parts. The embedded network controller provides a reliable Ethernet connection which can fit any set of current sources, according to the magnets geometry. In addition, Itest supplies dedicated C++ library to be integrated into the customer software platform, like the Tango software bus. Many synchrotrons have already chosen iTest current sources: |
